Protecting the Gwent Levels

In 2017, Neil was commissioned by the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts to document the wildlife of the Gwent Levels in Wales. The work was part of the Gwent Wildlife Trust's campaign to protect the landscape against plans to extend the M4 motorway. The network of waterways across the levels had been the site of a successful water vole reintroduction project. Disturbance and long-term pollution would cast doubt on the survival locally of this species of conservation concern, and many others.
